Dental Cleaning
Dental plaque/calculus deposits present on the tooth surfaces can cause gum inflammation and tooth decay.
Dental cleaning done with ultrasonic instruments helps remove this layer as well as extrinsic stains on teeth.
In persons with sensitive teeth/gums, local anesthesia may be required prior to the cleaning procedure.
After cleaning, if sensitivity persists, a desensitizing paste needs to be used.
Dental cleaning does not weaken the teeth.
It is a good idea to revisit your dentist every 6 months to 8 months and check to see if you need cleaning of teeth.
